Juvenile Bald Eagle?

I went for a drive along the Otonabee River (north of Trent University) while waiting too pick my daughter from her piano lesson. A large eagle flew by in the opposite direction, so I quickly turned around and gave chase. I finally found it, just before in landed in a dense grouping of trees. I had trouble getting a clear shot of it, so I walked up to the base of the tree. The bird took flight again and I was able to capture a few photos. Based on what I see in the Sibleys Bird Guide, I believe that this is a young Bald Eagle. (larger version of photo)

The Fox and the Otter

After photographing some Tim Bit hockey for a few parents on Saturday, I went up to the Lakefield Speed Skating Oval. Unfortunately due to the mild weather the ice was slushy and they had to cancel the Skate for Breast Cancer event. I decided to use this rare free time to check out the new Otter Exhibit at the Peterborough Zoo.
